We Are Back To USA
Jon and I arrived at Seattle Tacoma Airport at 8am on May 9, 2007. After a long custom clearance delay, we arrived home at 9.30am.

It is good to be home, we miss our bed and pillows and definitely do not miss the hot and humid weather in Singapore.

I feel like a tourist when I was in Singapore for the past 1 and 1/2 weeks. These are the changes I observed.

  • Singaporean girls are so tiny! I feel like a giant when I stand beside them
  • Clark Quay has been transformed to a very hip clubbing heaven, a place 'to see and be seen'
  • Wisma Atria has new eateries and boutiques
  • Two new shopping malls - Vivo City and Central
  • GAP has arrived but where is Old Navy and Banana Republic since they are managed by the same company
  • New HDB flats sprouting in Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio estates
  • MRT and bus fares have increased. The waiting time train and bus are longer. The waiting time should be shortened if the fares are increased. It made no sense to increase the fare and lengthen the waiting time
  • GST will be increased to 7% in July 2007
  • The hawker food price in Food Court has increased and the food portion has been reduced drastically!!!
