What's going on here?

Is it me or is everyone noticing that Singaporeans are dropping like flies recently?

Some of the deaths were due to jumps off MRT stations, while others were due to god knows what reason.

There's probably another group of deaths that weren't reported in the press yet, and that's the folks that were involved in fatal accidents.

Typically, when there's a fatal accident at a venue, there'll be some big signs from the police that calls for witnesses and such.

How many of such signs did I see in the last 2-3 weeks? Probably more than 12. I think I lost count of it after 10.

The weird thing was that I do not recall seeing any news reports of them, though I need to put a disclaimer to say that I do not actively read the local news, but just reading the Chinese tabloids that my father read. Yupe. Can't find a single report of them.

The news that prompted me to write this post were firstly another young professional passed away in her sleep, and as I was finishing this post, I realized on the same Chinese tabloid a day earlier, in a Serangoon condo, a German was sucked into the filtering system in the bottom of the Jacuzzi and died.

Flipping over to the other Chinese tabloid, another news mentioned that two housewives fell to their death while cleaning their apartments in the last two days!

I better stop reading all these tabloids.

The thing is that life now is so fragile. Probably now is the best time to start focusing on things that truly does matter. Whatever those things are should be different from one person to another, but the goal should be the same.
