Oh dear...
After much research and comments have been made on the Sony DRM issue, even on Tomorrow.sg, the latest development is a World of Warcraft hack that uses the concept of the rootkit to hide its game-cheating features away from the WOW detection kit, which was previously labelled as spyware itself too!

Great!

Update: Mark from Sysinternals shared more insights into the "update" kit that was released.
