Making a Family Time Capsule

The twins' mom sent us a series of videos of the twins that totally delighted the heck out of us.

Both Tony & Tracy are just sssoooooooooooooooo adorable, especially the Tracy video where she was making a sequence of facial expressions (winks, smile, laugh etc.) WHILE she was sleeping.

Now that we have so much digital means of creating and keeping media files, like music, videos, interviews, photos etc, it's probably good to take some of these tips on how to make a family time capsule in a reliable manner.

Videos will always be a challenge. Most digital cameras now provide means to do video capturing, but each of them have their own formats, ranging from avi, wmv, mov, mp4, mpegs etc. Having the files is one thing. Having a software that you can depend on to play the files 5 years in the future might be a challenge.

Perhaps a Virtual PC or Server solution might help..
