i always wonder about my career. i work in marketing communications for more than 10 years but i am not able to get a job in washington as i do not have local experience.

now that i am working in a bank as a customer service representative, i wonder whether this is my life time career. the job is not boring. it is just not challenging for me. after learning the bank's policies and regulations, i am almost ready to move on.

i ask my boss about my career path but she did not seem to know how to break the bad news to me that my career path ends where i begin.

i am always envious of friends and colleagues who have challenging jobs and projects. they are always on the go, and challenging assignments stimulate their thinking. i am not talking about fancy titles and huge salaries, although that might help. i am just thinking about interesting and challenging projects.

i am not planning to change job but i will look for new jobs in a passive manner. i want to stay on in this job and see whether i have learned enough or are there opportunities for me to work in a different department.
