Leavenworth Trip

Sharon wearing a hat in one of the first shops we visited Posted by Hello

Randy and Carol came over to pick us up at our place, and there was a slight discussion on whether they would want me to drive my rental car for the 6 hours trip. It's way too long of a drive for a newbie like me, so off on their car we go.

It was one of the hottest days of the year. July 23-24 were the hottest, when it felt almost like Singapore, without the humidity. Sharon and I must have really gotten used to the cool weather here as we were both screaming about the dry heat!

Like i said, the drive each way was about 3 hours. So 3 hours later, we were at the little town of Leavenworth.

Indeed it was as what Paul told us, that this is a German town in the Washington mountain range. Restaurants and stores that we tend to see everywhere, like Starbucks, McDonalds, are still here, but they follow the Bavarian theme. Photos, videos and even a bootleg recording of some german singing were taken as we went through the whole stretch of tourist traps.

We had lunch in this cool little authentic german restaurant, and had what we thought were German food. Pretty good stuff.

The heat was really getting to us. We constantly have to rehydrate ourselves to keep ourselves cool. Now, i don't even dare to imagine how we will feel when we get back to Singapore!
